Do You Need a Place to Live?

The N.C. Housing Finance Agency is working with property management agents to serve evacuees in the shelters. (Those interested in sending staff to process move-ins should contact Susan Westbrook at (919) 877-5647 or swestbrook@nchfa.com; or Theresa McSorley at (919) 877-5673 or tamcsorley@nchfa.com.) Individuals and families seeking rental housing may also check any of the following:

• NCHousingSearch.org has information on currently available apartments (some with our financing and some without), but does not cover the entire state.
• The Agency’s Affordable Apartment Locator. The Locator does not maintain vacancies. It includes only properties participating in our programs. Displaced households are eligible to rent many of the apartments in the Locator, even if their income would otherwise exceed the normal limits.
• Disaster Housing Resources

General housing and other information is also available from the Federal Emergency Management Agency, U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, and the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
