Urgent Repair Program (URP)
Funding under the Urgent Repair Program are used by local organizations to provide grants for emergency home repairs for elderly homeowners and other homeowners with special needs whose household incomes are below 50% of the area median income. The funds also are used for accessibility modifications that enable homeowners to continue living in their homes after an injury or illness.
Financed through the Housing Trust Fund and other Agency resources, a total of $3.5 million was made available to nonprofit organizations, local governments and regional councils through a competitive application process.
Homeowners interested in receiving assistance can contact the nonprofit organizations, local governments or regional councils directly serving their areas.
Nonprofit organizations, local governments and regional councils interested in the 2010 URP cycle can visit this site in September for additional information on the program and application requirements contained in the Application for Funding form and Application Guidelines.
If you have questions about the Agency’s Urgent Repair Program, please contact Mike Handley (919-877-5627 or mhandley@nchfa.com), Dick Smith-Overman (919-877-5628 or rsmithoverman@nchfa.com), or Cal Jordan (919-877-5632 or rcjordan@nchfa.com).
