Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony Held for Disaster Recovery Property in Fair Bluff

State Representative Brenden Jones attended a ribbon-cutting ceremony for a repaired home previously damaged by Hurricane Matthew on August 2. The home of Joan Eady in Fair Bluff sustained damage during Hurricane Matthew and was repaired by the North Carolina Baptists on Mission using funds from the North Carolina Housing Finance Agency's Essential Single-Family Rehabilitation Loan Pool—Disaster Recovery. 

The Agency, a self-supporting state agency, received an appropriation of $20 million to rehabilitate homes damaged by certain natural disasters in the Disaster Recovery Act of 2016. Statewide, the fund has already financed repairs for more than 60 single-family homes with more than 200 additional homes currently under construction with local community partners. In total, the fund will rehabilitate more than 450 single-family homes in eastern North Carolina damaged by Hurricane Matthew and Tropical Storms Julia and Hermine.

“We are always excited to celebrate the completion of repairs for citizens whose homes were damaged by natural disaster,” said Scott Farmer, executive director of the North Carolina Housing Finance Agency. “With more than 200 homes currently under construction with our local partners, we anticipate many more success stories like this one in the future.”
