N.C. Housing Finance Agency Announces Appointments to Board of Directors

The North Carolina Housing Finance Agency announces five appointments to its Board of Directors. Board members for the self-supporting public agency are appointed by the General Assembly and Governor. They serve two- to four-year terms.

The new appointees are:

Paul S. Jaber, executive vice president, First South Bank, Rocky Mount; 
James W. Oglesby, Oglesby Insurance, Candler.

Three board members were reappointed:

William C. Fitzgerald III, retired businessman, Laurinburg; 
Patricia G. Garrett, president, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Housing Partnership, Charlotte;
William C. Lackey, Jr., vice president of sales, John Wieland Homes, Charlotte.

These appointees join Lucius Jones, Wendell, who continues as chairman of the N.C. Housing Finance Agency Board of Directors. Jones has served as a member and as chairman of the board for the past 14 years. Also on the current board are William Benton, chairman and CEO, Salem Senior Housing, Inc., Winston-Salem; Dean Carpenter, president, Carpenter’s Real Estate, Dallas; Sam Ewell, Jr., retired businessman, Wendell; Joe Parker, mortgage professional, Durham; Jimmy Smith, Insurance Center, Nashville; John White, general manager, White Realty & Construction, Nags Head; and Charles Worth, private businessman, Manson.

The N.C. Housing Finance Agency is a self-supporting public agency that has financed more than $10 billion in housing for North Carolina. This includes 174,000 homes and apartments for working families and elderly North Carolinians.
