N.C. Housing Finance Agency Announces Appointments to Board of Directors

The North Carolina Housing Finance Agency announces seven appointments to its Board of Directors. Board members for the self-supporting public agency are appointed by the General Assembly and Governor. They serve two- to four-year terms.

The new appointees are:

- Dean Carpenter, president, Carpenter’s Real Estate, Dallas
- Matt Harrell, businessman, Elkin
- Bill Lackey, Jr., vice president of sales, John Wieland Homes, Charlotte 
- John White, general manager, White Realty & Construction, Nags Head

Three board members were reappointed:

- Sam Ewell, Jr., retired businessman, Wendell
- Bill Fitzgerald, retired businessman, Laurinburg
- Mark McGoldrick, president, Allen Tate Mortgage Services, Inc., Charlotte

These appointees join Lucius Jones, Wendell, who was reappointed by Governor Mike Easley as chairman of the N.C. Housing Finance Agency Board of Directors. Jones has served as a member and as chairman of the board for the past 12 years. Also on the current board are Patricia Garrett, president, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Housing Partnership, Charlotte; Booker Jones, Sr., mayor, Mesic; Joe Parker, Premier Mortgage, Durham; Jimmy Smith, Insurance Center, Nashville; and Charles Worth, chief executive officer, Vance-Warren Comprehensive Health Plan, Inc., Manson.

The N.C. Housing Finance Agency is a self-supporting public agency that has financed more than $9 billion in housing for North Carolina This includes 165,000 homes and apartments for working families and elderly North Carolinians.
