Lucius S. Jones of Wendell has been elected to a second term as president of the National Council of State Housing Bonds (NCSHB), representing the boards of directors that govern the nation's 55 housing finance agencies.

Nationwide, these agencies sell $5 billion of bonds a year to finance the first-time homebuyer mortgages.  They also manage $5 billion in federal tax credits to produce affordable rental apartments.

Jones, a home builder and the mayor of Wendell, has served 10 years as chairman of the board of directors of the N.C. Housing Finance Agency.  The self-supporting public agency has financed more than 156,000 affordable homes and apartments.
