NC Homeowner Assistance Fund

The NC Homeowner Assistance Fund is being administered by the NC Housing Finance Agency using $273 million that was allocated to North Carolina under the American Rescue Plan to prevent mortgage delinquencies, defaults, displacements, and foreclosures for homeowners experiencing financial difficulties due to the coronavirus pandemic. This program is being supported, in whole or in part, by federal award number HAF0019 awarded to the State of North Carolina by the US Department of the Treasury.

Below is a tracker outlining the phases the NC Housing Finance Agency must follow and the status of where we are in the process. The Agency is committed to opening the program to applicants as soon as possible and expects to have all systems in place to begin accepting applications in early 2022.
