Local Attorney Elected President of National Council of State Housing Boards

RALEIGH—Raleigh attorney R. Gene Davis, Jr., has been elected as president of the National Council of State Housing Boards (NCSHB), which represents housing finance agency boards across the country.

Davis, who specializes in corporate and real estate law, also currently serves as chair of the Board of Directors of the North Carolina Housing Finance Agency, a self-supporting public agency that has financed $21.2 billion of affordable homes and apartments.

Davis has served on the NCSHB since 2016, most recently as vice president. He was elected as president during the National Council of State Housing Agencies' annual meeting in Austin, TX, October 14-16. NC Housing Finance Agency Board Member Paul Kennedy of Shallotte was also elected to the NCSHB.

The North Carolina Housing Finance Agency, a self-supporting public agency, has financed 269,000 homes and apartments since its creation in 1973.
