Renters can now find affordable housing through NCHousingSearch.org, a newly expanded statewide service that lists properties, provides photos, and describes amenities and eligibility requirements.  NCHousingSearch.org is cosponsored by the N.C. Housing Finance Agency and other housing organizations.

The free bilingual service allows renters to search online for up-to-date apartment vacancies, maps, pictures and contact information. In addition, renters can search for apartments with accessibility accommodations. Apartment-seekers should go to NCHousingSearch.org and click on “Find a Property" or call 1-877-428-8844, a bilingual call center.

NCHousingSearch.org is co-sponsored by the North Carolina Housing Finance Agency, the Community Investment Corporation of North Carolina, the Community Affordable Housing Equity Corporation, the Carolinas Council for Affordable Housing, and the N.C. Interagency Council for Coordinating Homeless Programs.

The web site is powered by Socialserve, a nonprofit that has listed rental properties in Western North Carolina, Charlotte and Greensboro for the past several years. Socialserve.com develops and maintains Web applications that help agencies, property owners and the public offer and find affordable housing in several states.
