Autumn Oaks features two- and three-bedroom apartments that are affordable for a family of four with an income at $32,760 or below.  (Income limits vary based on household size.) Amenities include a clubhouse with a laundry facility, fitness center, computer lab, lounge area, kitchen and covered outdoor patio as well as an adjacent playground. Autumn Oaks is close to grocery and retail stores, pharmacies, medical offices, restaurants, a park, churches and a library.

The development was financed in large part by federal and state tax credits awarded by the NC Housing Finance Agency. It will offer tenant-based rental assistance for persons with disabilities through the state’s Key Program.

The Agency finances the statewide construction of affordable rental apartments using federal and state housing credits, low-interest loans and tax-exempt bond allocations. In addition, the Agency administers the state’s 25-year-old Housing Trust Fund, which provides loans for development of rental apartments.

“Autumn Oaks will make a real difference for working families in Sanford by providing a comfortable, safe and affordable community,” said Bob Kucab, executive director of the NC Housing Finance Agency.
