If you are an eligible first-time buyer or military veteran, the NC Home Advantage Tax Credit can make home ownership even more affordable for you with a Mortgage Credit Certificate (MCC). The MCC allows eligible buyers to take a federal tax credit of 30% of the mortgage paid annually (50% on newly built homes), which means more money in your pocket to help you afford your mortgage! In all, the MCC can help you save up to $2,000 each year that you occupy your new home.
