If you work for a HUD-approved housing counseling agency, there are a number of opportunities for you to assist home buyers applying for down payment assistance from NCHFA.
Some of our programs require applicants to complete a HUD-approved home buyer education course, and some also require applicants to receive pre-purchase counseling.
Moreover, the Community Partners Loan Pool (CPLP), our most generous down payment assistance program, requires potential borrowers to apply through a participating nonprofit or local government agency. If your organization become a CPLP Member, you can help low- and moderate-income home buyers in your community reduce their mortgage payments by up to 25 percent. Moreover, your agency can receive a service fee or each CPLP loan closed.
