Housing Research

The NC Housing Finance Agency monitors housing-related research, studies and statistics and shares that information through several resources, including interactive maps and spreadsheets, reports on benefits and its Policy Matters blog.

North Carolina Housing Statistics

The Agency publishes a State of Housing spreadsheet and interactive map each year that provides the latest housing-related data on a per county basis. The map and spreadsheet show the age of each county's housing stock, how many residents are cost burdened, population change and foreclosure information—information that is vital to understanding the need for affordable housing across the state.

Data mapped by PolicyMap, an online GIS mapping tool.

Benefits of Housing Reports

To make the strongest case possible for investments in affordable housing, the Agency monitors the latest research and studies on how this housing benefits individuals and communities in ways other than just providing shelter.
